Why I started The Practical Prep

I have always loved eating healthy. But when I started working full time, it became so much more difficult to eat healthy everyday at work.

I couldn’t figure out how to quickly pack a healthy meal that would leave me feeling full until the end of the day. I tried sandwiches, pre-made salads from the grocery store, leftovers from dinner, but nothing really stuck. It was always a question of where my lunch was going to come from.

Breakfast was another problem. I was waking up way too early to cook a big, fresh breakfast every morning so that I would stay full until lunch. If I overslept, I ended up just grabbing a protein bar or having to skip breakfast altogether. I was feeling so stressed about what I was going to eat and I was wasting so much time throughout the week trying to figure it out.

Sound familiar?

After a few months, I just couldn’t take it anymore. I was stressed enough from my new job, I didn’t need to be stressed out about food too! One day at work, we had a training about being organized. They talked about “batch processing”- when you have a lot of something to do or create, do it all at once to take less time and get it over with. I realized I could do this with my food!

I began meal prepping. It wasn’t easy at first and I made plenty of mistakes along the way. After all this trial and error, I have learned so much about how to meal prep in the most efficient way to make the most nutritious and delicious meals.

I help busy people figure out how to be prepared for the week with healthy, home-cooked meals while minimizing time in the kitchen and decreasing their costs for food. I am a Certified Whole30 Coach ready to help you stay compliant without feeling overwhelmed.
